Daves Old Computers - ALTAIR 8800 - ADM3A Terminal

The back of the terminal.

No microprocessor here... The Adm3A was implemented entirely in logic. The 40 pin chip near the bottom of the board is the UART (serial interface). The twp 24 pin chips are character generator ROMs, one for lower case and one for upper case. The terminal only had upper case when I received it. The socketed ROM chip is a lower case ROM that I salvaged from a different terminal.

The Adm3A monitor. If you look closely, you can see the analog board nestled under the neck of the type (which is actually above it in the normal operating position).
